Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Oversee the completion and evaluation of assurance projects, tax assignments, and financial reports in alignment with Firm protocols for a diverse range of clients across various sectors.
  • Facilitate effective communication within our team, with clients, and pertinent government bodies.
  • Foster positive working relationships with clients and team members, addressing inquiries and feedback promptly.
  • Review individual tax filings, trust submissions, T4, T5, GST/HST filings, and other relevant information returns.
  • Assume accountability for the comprehensive completion of files.
  • Recognize accounting or tax-related challenges and consult with senior team members as necessary.
  • Contribute to the training, development, and oversight of junior team members.
  • Identify potential business opportunities with current clients and pursue new business prospects.
  • Undertake additional projects or related responsibilities as required.

Essential Qualifications

  • A degree from a university or a diploma from a college in a relevant discipline.
  • At least five (5) years of experience in Canadian public accounting, including personal tax preparation.
  • Experience in a comparable environment is highly advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding client service and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capacity to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team setting.
  • Proficient computer skills, with familiarity in CaseWare, Taxprep, and MS Office (including Excel and Word).
