The Project Coordinator will play a vital role in the planning, execution, and successful delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed on schedule, within financial constraints, and according to specified standards. This position involves defining project parameters, acquiring necessary resources, and supporting the project team’s efforts. Key responsibilities include effective communication with stakeholders and reporting to senior management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage project schedules and handoffs for awarded contracts, including subcontractor coordination and site meetings.
  • Establish project timelines, milestones, and requirements utilizing appropriate software tools and methodologies.
  • Oversee the entire project life cycle, from initial planning and bidding to operational execution and completion.
  • Assist with daily operations both in the office and on-site.
  • Engage in safety initiatives and foster a culture of safety within the team.
  • Support the implementation of process improvement strategies.
  • Monitor project progress and manage costs to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
  • Assist in job costing and update quantities for progress payments.
  • Interpret blueprints to accurately estimate project costs.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and trades on various project estimates.
  • Communicate effectively with departmental leaders regarding construction needs, budgeting, and bid evaluations.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or a related Construction Management program is preferred.
  • Experience in Heavy Civil Construction is advantageous.
  • A valid Class 5 Driver's License is required.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a construction team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Professional demeanor, punctuality, assertiveness, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of independent judgment and reasoning.
  • Ability to maintain composure and urgency in high-pressure situations.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to support various projects.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Outlook).

Working Environment:

The Project Coordinator may be required to work extended hours in an office setting and utilize a computer. Fieldwork and site visits will be frequent, necessitating the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, steel-toed boots, and reflective vests. Additional PPE may be required based on specific site conditions. Travel may also be necessary for company representation.
