POSITION SUMMARY
The Electrical Reliability Engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the dependability of electrical systems within the manufacturing facility. This position is focused on the stewardship of asset management protocols, which encompasses evaluating the integrity of asset management processes and the condition of the assets through the implementation of reliability enhancement methodologies. This includes thorough auditing, monitoring, and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) in accordance with established maintenance process standards and reliability work management procedures. The Reliability Engineer is expected to demonstrate due diligence in applying improvement strategies, recommending solutions, and overseeing the execution of enhancements, including adherence to change management processes.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise all facets of asset reliability to achieve desired performance while minimizing unplanned failures and their repercussions.
- Champion health and safety practices in alignment with electrical safety regulations and occupational health standards.
- Update and maintain equipment documentation, including bills of materials, schematics, and maintenance schedules, reflecting any upgrades or modifications.
- Evaluate management of change (MOC) documentation for opportunities to enhance reliability and upgrade equipment.
- Assess and recommend electrical upgrades for equipment in response to part obsolescence, demand increases, and new specifications.
- Develop safe operational procedures for electrical preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.
- Revise and create preventive maintenance (PM) and predictive maintenance (PdM) tasks for both new and existing equipment utilizing reliability improvement methodologies.
- Oversee the outcomes of predictive maintenance activities by issuing diagnostic and corrective work orders as necessary.
- Formulate, propose, and execute strategies aimed at enhancing equipment reliability.
- Conduct reliability assessments of proposed modifications, upgrades, or design alterations to equipment.
- Engage in pre-repair, shutdown management, and weekly asset meetings to identify and plan necessary work.
- Develop and assess electrical preventive and predictive inspection protocols.
- Review and update equipment criticality assessments within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
- Provide technical support to skilled trades as needed.
- Assist in the annual budget planning process.
- Ensure production equipment is maintained in optimal condition, analyze failures, recommend corrective measures, supervise preventive maintenance execution, and evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs.
- Conduct thermographic inspections of electrical installations and subsequent repairs.
- Provide on-call support for the facility as per the established schedule.
- Implement environmental policies in daily operations and ensure compliance with legal and corporate environmental standards.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering with a Professional Engineer (PE) designation.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and comprehensive knowledge of converting equipment.
- 3-5 years of experience in technical and industrial manufacturing or reliability engineering roles; or 1-2 years of experience combined with formal reliability training.
- Familiarity with reliability improvement methodologies such as RCM, PMO, and RCFA.
- Proficient in computer applications, including MS Office and statistical analysis tools.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work autonomously and implement programs in a collaborative environment.
- Capability to interpret and update machine schematics and diagrams.
- Strong organizational skills to efficiently plan and manage work activities.
- Flexibility and responsiveness to departmental and organizational needs.
- Ability to collaborate with management and staff to positively influence business outcomes.
- Demonstrated proactive problem-solving abilities and capacity to lead cross-functional teams.
- Training in RCM, PMO, and RCFA is a significant advantage.
- Proficiency in or willingness to learn Computerized Maintenance Management Systems.
