We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at BFL Construction Inc. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, repairing, and installing structures and fixtures made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts and measurements to ensure conformance to building codes
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials to create structures and fixtures
  • Prepare tenders and quotations for clients
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
  • Combination of sitting, standing, and walking throughout the workday
Requirements and Qualifications
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in carpentry or a related field
  • Participation in a government or community program or initiative that supports newcomers and/or refugees
  • Assistance with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and/or refugees
  • Support for social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees
  • Recruitment of newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster
  • Support for foreign credential recognition and mentorship programs
