Bulk Petroleum Transport Driver

Company Overview: Federated Co-operatives Limited is seeking a dedicated Petroleum Driver to join our Bulk Petroleum division.

Position Summary: The Petroleum Driver (Class 3Q) will report directly to the Petroleum Manager and will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service while operating tandem or tridem trucks. This role involves the safe delivery of hazardous petroleum products, as well as the loading and unloading of these materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the safe operation of the vehicle and its features during the transportation of petroleum products.
  • Conduct general maintenance on fuel trucks and complete electronic daily logs.
  • Perform pre-trip inspections and report any discrepancies to the Petroleum Manager.
  • Communicate sales and promotional programs to customers effectively.
  • Maintain a professional image of Federated Co-operatives Limited and adhere to safety policies.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Class 3Q or higher driver's license with a clean driving abstract.
  • A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in bulk liquid transportation.
  • Ability to work independently and unsupervised.
  • Knowledge of petroleum products and mechanical skills are advantageous.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment alcohol and substance test.
  • Completion of a pre-employment Driver Evaluation by an approved third-party.
  • Ability to recognize and understand the unique properties and handling requirements of hazardous materials.
  • Familiarity with loading and offloading equipment such as hoses and couplings.
  • Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Physical capability to lift over 55 lbs and work at heights.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to collaborate within diverse teams.
  • Proficient in map reading and GPS navigation.

Working Conditions:

  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Spending up to 75% of the workday driving.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and noisy environments.
  • Regular lifting of heavy materials.
