About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Agent to join our team at New Castle Hotels & Resorts. As a Purchasing Agent, you will be responsible for purchasing goods and services for our hotels, ensuring quality and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement and Inventory Management - Assist the Executive Chef in purchasing food, beverages, and controllable items, ensuring quality and profitability.
  • Process Improvement - Develop and implement means to improve the purchasing process and financials.
  • Reporting and Compliance - Generate and provide accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, and ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Delivery Inspection - Ensure inspection of all deliveries to verify accuracy and quality of product.
  • Sanitation and Safety - Ensure compliance with food handling and sanitation standards, and implement and enforce all control procedures for property goods entering through the purchasing/receiving areas.
  • Communication and Leadership - Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others, and demonstrate knowledge of budgets, operating statements, and payroll progress reports as needed to maintain financial management of the department.

Requirements

  • Experience - Minimum of 2 years in a purchasing role with strong knowledge of kitchen operations, inventory management, and purchasing procedures.
  • Education - College degree in accounting or finance preferred.
  • Certifications - Valid ServeSafe and Food Handlers certificates required.
  • Skills - Effective communication skills, ability to make timely and well-informed decisions, and physical stamina for long hours on your feet, handling heavy objects, and multitasking.

Additional Information

This is a full-time position that requires the ability to work indoors and outdoors, around chemicals or fumes, and use equipment such as computers, telephones, radios, pallet jacks, flatbeds, and hand trucks.
