Position Overview
As a Correctional Officer specializing in peacekeeping, you will engage in various duties across multiple facilities within Alberta. This role is vital in maintaining safety and security within correctional environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor inmate behavior and ensure compliance with facility regulations.
- Utilize conflict resolution skills to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
- Collaborate effectively with a team to uphold a secure environment.
Essential Qualifications:
- Completion of secondary education along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
- Consideration for equivalent qualifications based on experience and education.
- Current certification in Standard First Aid and CPR Level-C with AED.
- Valid Criminal Records Check.
- Proficient in conflict management and teamwork.
- Must be at least 18 years old and possess a valid Canadian Driver's License.
- Authorized to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in correctional facilities, law enforcement, or security.
- Background in military service or emergency response.
- Experience working with youth or individuals facing mental health challenges.
- Relevant security experience.
To effectively carry out your duties, you will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean-shaven appearance for safety equipment effectiveness.
