Railserve, Canada is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious individual to join our team as a Part Time Rail Operations Specialist. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of freight railcars.
Key Responsibilities- Operate electric, diesel-electric, or gas-turbine-electric locomotives to transport freight railcars.
- Pump liquid chemicals, liquid petroleum products, and other liquids from tank cars.
- Interpret train orders, signals, and rules and regulations to ensure safe and efficient operations.
- Transport freight railcars and perform timely and correct switching and placement of rail cars.
- High School diploma (or equivalent) preferred but not required.
- Military experience helpful.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business information, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages.

This incumbent regularly works in an outdoor environment, in various weather conditions.
