Job Title: Sr Principal Engineer - AI/ML System Architect

Albin Engineering Services, Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Sr Principal Engineer - AI/ML System Architect to join our team. This is a 100% remote position with opportunities for international travel.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Develop and lead the design of complex AI/ML infrastructure platform solutions, ensuring overall design quality metrics are met.
  • Establish and maintain close technical relationships with suppliers/partners on product roadmaps and technologies.
  • Lead RFQ technical responses and platform concept development efforts as required.
  • Provide effective trade-off analysis and competitive guidance to engineering teams and customers.
  • Deliverables include System Requirements Documents (SRD), requirement compliance assessments, and technical proposals.
  • Act as a primary technical interface between the company and customers, particularly in technical escalation.
  • Support business development teams to assist in winning new business.
  • Participate in the selection and hiring of design team resources as needed.
  • Identify and champion process improvement efforts as required.
  • Participate in standards committees and industry groups as assigned.
  • Prepare and present technical presentations to customers, industry groups, tradeshows, etc.
Requirements:
  • 15+ years of server and/or AI/ML accelerator hardware design experience.
  • 5 years of AI infrastructure system design experience.
  • Experience with Nvidia, AMD, Intel, or other modern GPU accelerators and support systems.
  • Successful experience architecting and delivering server/storage/converged products to market.
  • Excellent customer presentation skills.
  • A broad knowledge of current digital and analog components.
  • Successful New Product Introduction (NPI) launch.
  • Extensive knowledge of system-level power, cooling, mechanical, SW/FW, and electrical design integration and engineering trade-offs.
Desired Skills:
  • Prior participation in industry groups and associations.
  • System-level integration, interoperability, and test experience.
  • System-level manufacturing test experience.

Travel: International travel required, approximately 4-6 trips per year. Domestic travel to support customer and internal meetings as required.

Location: This is a remote position, with travel as necessary. We are open to considering candidates close to any of our US locations in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Texas, Arizona, Oregon, or California, as well as locations near major airports such as the Northeast, Southeast, Midwest, and Pacific Coast.
