About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and physically fit individual to join our team at PDQ Construction Ltd. as a Carpenter Helper. This is a permanent, on-the-road position that requires the ability to work in various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Loading and Unloading: Assist in loading and unloading construction materials from vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Clean and lubricate cranes, perform routine maintenance work, and assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites.
  • Material Handling: Mix, pour, and spread materials such as concrete and asphalt.
  • Salvage and Cleanup: Clean and pile salvaged materials.
  • Heavy Lifting: Handle heavy loads and perform physically demanding tasks.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Setting: Various locations, including construction sites and on-the-road assignments.
  • Work Conditions: Physically demanding work environment with exposure to heavy loads, noise, and varying weather conditions.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy loads, as well as work at heights and in confined spaces.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: Experience is an asset, but not required.
  • Language: English is the primary language of communication.
  • Work Hours: 30 to 40 hours per week.
