Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Yard Controller to join our Distribution Centre team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient flow of products in and out of our Distribution Centre, off-site yards, and main yard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute dock schedules to maximize dock door utilization and line load opportunities
  • Maintain accurate yard management records and communicate effectively with yard shunters, security staff, carriers, and operations teams
  • Resolve yard discrepancies and proactively communicate with warehouse teams and other departments for issue resolution and process improvements
  • Perform administrative tasks, including KPI tracking and spreadsheet management
  • Work flexible hours, including overtime, vacation coverage, and off-shifts
Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Transportation of Dangerous Goods certification (training provided as needed)
  • Strong PC skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, good time management and organizational skills
  • Experience with yard management software
