Job Description

Fed IT is seeking a highly skilled Cloud Infrastructure Specialist to join our team. As a Cloud Infrastructure Specialist, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure solutions using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and/or Microsoft Azure platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cloud Infrastructure Design and Implementation: Evaluate and analyze existing onsite systems and applications to determine their feasibility and suitability for migration to the cloud. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) to ensure scalability, high availability, and security.
  • Cloud Architecture and Engineering: Design and deploy scalable, highly available, high-performance, and secure cloud infrastructure solutions using AWS and/or Azure platforms. Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and translate them into cloud architecture designs.
  • Cloud Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices and ensure compliance with industry standards to protect data and resources in the cloud. Develop and maintain scripts, templates, and automation tools to streamline cloud provisioning and management processes.
  • Cloud Monitoring and Optimization: Monitor system performance and ensure high availability of services through proactive monitoring, alerting, and incident response. Collaborate with various internal teams and external suppliers to optimize application architecture for cloud environments, ensuring scalability and performance.
Requirements:
  • Experience: Minimum of five (5) to eight (8) years' relevant work experience in systems and infrastructure administration.
  • Cloud Experience: 3 years' experience in cloud administration using AWS or MS Azure platforms.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, or JavaScript. Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation. Solid understanding of networking concepts and experience of cloud networking services (VPC, VPN, load balancers, etc.).
  • Education: University degree in computer science or computer engineering.
  • Certifications: One of the following certifications is desirable: MCP (Certified Microsoft Professional), MCSA (Microsoft Certified System Administrator), CCA (Citrix Certified Administrator).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Language: Bilingual French/English preferred.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge of mobile devices (tablets and iPads), knowledge of an ITSM query tool (Octopus an asset), knowledge of the healthcare sector (an asset).
