The Senior Business Analyst Consultant will serve as a key individual contributor focusing on a pivotal strategic project aimed at establishing a cutting-edge clinical research site intelligence repository. This initiative seeks to consolidate essential data points into a cohesive data solution.
The role will encompass a thorough assessment of the current state and the formulation of a future state, which will be among the primary deliverables. This assessment will also involve an evaluation of existing processes related to the subject matter, conducting a gap analysis, and identifying interim initiatives to ensure the successful integration of the new data solution within the organization.
Scope of WorkThe initial engagement is set for a duration of 6 months, during which the consultant will:
- Conduct a comprehensive current state assessment.
- Define the future state requirements.
- Perform a gap analysis and compile a detailed list of requirements necessary for implementing a robust data solution.
- Collaborate with stakeholders and subject matter experts to complete assessments and gather requirements.
- Foster relationships with all stakeholders to understand their challenges, objectives, and needs.
- Develop a holistic understanding of the organizational processes, systems, and functions relevant to the project scope.
- Utilize industry-standard techniques to document and communicate the current and future states through process flows, data dictionaries, use cases, and specifications for business and functional requirements.
- Assess the effectiveness of existing processes and provide recommendations, including conducting a gap analysis to streamline future business processes.
- Contribute to identifying a system that supports the project scope and the development of future state processes, standards, and guidelines.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience.
- Experience in the CRO industry is preferred, with a solid understanding of the landscape.
- Strong analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team to meet critical deadlines.
- Proficient in analyzing large datasets, identifying inefficiencies, and making informed recommendations.
- Experience in requirements elicitation, documentation, and elaboration, including refining requirements with assumptions, constraints, dependencies, issues, and risks.
- Essential facilitation skills and experience in business process mapping and analysis.
- PMI-PBA/IIBA Certification is considered a strong asset.
- Familiarity with current programming and data analytics tools, along with statistical analysis skills, is advantageous.
- Experience in leading and managing large-scale process improvement initiatives.
- Skills in process modeling and analysis, including information gathering, gap analysis between current and future states, and root cause analysis.
- Experience with AWS/Azure, Data Catalogs, and Power BI is a plus.
