Job Summary

The City of Ottawa's Office of the Auditor General is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Fraud and Waste Hotline operations and Quality Assurance Program. As an Audit Manager, you will be responsible for planning and managing the day-to-day delivery of our audit services, including leading audit projects and investigations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and manage the delivery of audit services, including leading audit projects and investigations
  • Supervise and direct audit staff and contractors to ensure high-quality audit work
  • Develop and implement audit plans, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop audit programs to identify and mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address audit findings and recommendations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including City departments and external organizations
Requirements
  • Completion of a 4-year university degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 7 years of internal audit experience, including a minimum of 2 years of experience supervising audit staff and/or contractors
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) with CPA Ontario or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) with IIA Canada or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE)
  • Strong knowledge of auditing standards, regulations, and best practices
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills
