About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Scientist to join our Data Science Price Modelling and Innovation team at Aviva Canada. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and deploying machine learning and statistical models to drive business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a growing set of data mining tools, frameworks, and approaches
  • Participate in all phases of pricing model development: data mining/processing, modeling, and performance monitoring
  • Coach junior Data Scientists and contribute to the growth and development of the team
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes and improve customer experiences
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Physics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in programming with Python and a strong understanding of software engineering principles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate complex algorithms to non-technical stakeholders
  • Self-motivated and able to lead projects independently
