Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Clerical Assistant III to join our team at the University Health Network. As a key member of our Health Records department, you will play a critical role in managing, organizing, and maintaining medical records and health information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Release of Information Management: Process and maintain confidentiality of patient records, ensuring compliance with legal and privacy standards.
  • Chart Management: Assist in indexing, scanning, filing, and retrieving patient health records.
  • Training and Development: Act as a mentor/coach to students, volunteers, and new staff, providing training and guidance on release of information functions within the department.
  • Clerical Support: Perform cross-functional clerical support functions, including answering and redirecting telephone calls, responding to internal and external inquiries, and welcoming visitors.
Requirements
  • Knowledge and Skills: Knowledgeable with legislation affecting privacy, access, and disclosure; effective interpersonal, written, and communication skills; excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Education and Experience: Successfully completed an approved Health Information Management Program and a current member of CHIMA would be an asset.
