Job Summary
We are a multidisciplinary team conducting health services research using Ontario administrative healthcare data. Our work focuses on diverse clinical areas, such as cardiovascular disease, dementia, and oncology, and projects involve studying basic epidemiologic trends, treatment safety and effectiveness, patient decision-making, and health policy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute data set creation plans and analysis plans for assigned projects.
- Develop SAS programs to extract and merge data from existing ICES databases according to data set creation plans.
- Carry out statistical analysis on developed study cohorts according to project analysis plans.
- Prepare and review analytic output, liaising with the Principal Investigator and Research Coordinator.
- Work effectively and efficiently according to ICES policies, procedures, and standards.
- Assist with preparing study cohorts for students or faculty.
- Contribute to writing reports, abstracts, poster presentations, peer-reviewed publications, and other deliverables.
- Interface with internal and external stakeholders in support of the project.
- Facilitate the uptake of knowledge by local decision-makers across Ontario.
- Contribute to the development of a body of knowledge in support of ICES.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Public Health Sciences, or a related discipline.
- Experience with SAS programming skills, including SQL and macro writing.
Special Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office software and computerized databases.
- Understanding of health services research and administrative data.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of a research team.
- Interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good organization skills and attention to detail.

- Determine necessary information to focus on objectives aligned with Queen's and ICES strategy and plans.
- Determine own work plans with the team, partners, and leader(s).
- Identify issues and take necessary action or seek support to resolve problems.
