We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Controls Project Engineer to join our team at Volkswagen Group Canada Inc.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee and ensure the successful build and completion of the PowerCo SE St. facility project.
- Provide on-site construction scheduling support and monitor key project constraints such as time, budget, quality, and safety.
- Report on progress and ensure alignment with the vision and objectives determined by PowerCo SE headquarters.
- Ensure alignment of our facility design with standard factory designs through regular meetings and updates.
- Optimize and define local user requirements for our buildings and connection points with municipal utilities and agencies.
- Lead the technical evaluation of construction offers and finalize purchase orders within PowerCo Canada committees.
- Manage claims from construction companies in a timely fashion.
- Coordinate and schedule milestones with construction partners, considering all interfaces.
- Schedule and monitor assigned tasks and projects to internal and external stakeholders.
- Prepare reports for project team, different areas of the business, and leadership.
- Conduct site inspections to manage progress and deliver progress reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, Architecture, MEP engineering, or related field of study.
- ~ 5+ years relevant work experience in engineering, architecture, construction, or equivalent, with execution or planning of large-scale industrial facilities.
- Well-organized with experience in setting up, scheduling, and tracking milestones within large construction projects.
- Able to work safely on an active construction site in accordance with the Health & Safety Plan.
- Proficient in workflows and quality control/quality assurance.
- A flexible and collaborative team dynamic.
