About the Role

We are seeking experienced Personal Support Workers to join our team at Good Shepherd Centres. As a Personal Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to individuals in our Senior Assisted Living Supportive Housing Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support and assistance to individuals in their daily activities, including personal care tasks, meal preparation, and light housekeeping duties.
  • Administer medications according to prescribed instructions and assist with transportation to appointments or outings.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals, as well as monitor and report any changes in their condition or behavior.
  • Perform administrative tasks, such as documentation and other duties, as required.
Requirements
  • PSW certificate, in good standing from an approved and recognized institution.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certificate is required.
  • Experience working with individuals in the end of life or with a life-limiting illness.
  • Good judgment, problem-solving, and assessment skills.
  • Enhanced training in palliative/end of life care, such as Fundamentals in Hospice Palliative Care, is considered an asset.
  • Excellent attendance record and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to speak French and/or other languages is considered an asset.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a car at all times.
  • Ability to walk up to 5 blocks as required for client visits.
