Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, consulting with other medical practitioners, and prescribing medications and treatments. They will also be expected to maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with patients and their families.
Responsibilities- Consult with other medical practitioners to evaluate patients' physical and mental health
- Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
- Inoculate and vaccinate patients to prevent and treat diseases
- Advise patients on health care
- Report births, deaths, contagious and other diseases to government authorities
- Be the patient advocate
- Co-ordinate or manage primary patient care
- Provide counselling and support to patients and their families on a wide range of health and lifestyle issues
- College of Family Physicians Certification (CCFP)
- Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC)
- Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
