We are seeking a highly skilled Editorial Content Specialist to join our team at Abler HD Canada INC. As an Editorial Content Specialist, you will be responsible for evaluating the suitability of material for publication, making decisions on the significance of copy, and planning the layout or format of copy according to space or time allocations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and Select Content: Assess the suitability of material for publication, broadcast, or publication on the internet.
  • Make Editorial Decisions: Decide on the significance of copy and what to implement.
  • Plan and Coordinate Content: Plan the layout or format of copy according to space or time allocations.
  • Publish and Distribute Content: Publish text for distribution.
  • Proofread and Edit: Detect and correct errors in spelling, grammar, and syntax.
  • Content Optimization: Shorten or lengthen copy as needed.
  • Event Planning: Plan coverage of upcoming events and assign work accordingly.
  • Negotiate and Manage Contracts: Negotiate royalties with authors and initiate payments to freelance staff.
  • Collaborate with Authors: Confer with authors, staff writers, reporters, and others regarding revisions to copy.
  • Coordinate Team Activities: Plan and coordinate activities of staff and ensure production deadlines are met.
  • Write and Prepare Content: Write or prepare introductions, marketing and promotional materials, bibliographic references, indexes, and other text.
Requirements
  • Availability: Be available for shift or on-call work.
  • Work Eligibility: Be currently legally able to work in Canada.
  • Education: Have a current level of study.
