Registered Dietitian

Island Health is seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Dietitian - Eating Disorders to join our team.

In this role, you will provide specialized nutritional counseling and support to individuals struggling with eating disorders. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.

• Responsibilities:
• Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments and develop personalized meal plans for clients with eating disorders.
• Provide individual and group counseling sessions, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic techniques.
• Educate clients and their families on healthy eating habits, body image, and coping mechanisms.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care.
• Stay current on the latest research and best practices in eating disorder treatment.

Qualifications:

• Registration with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia.
• Bachelor's degree from a recognized university with a major in dietetics/nutrition or equivalent.
• Knowledge of eating disorder theory, available programs and services, their interrelationships and their function in delivering care in the community.
• Completion of recognized dietetic internship in an accredited hospital.
• Eligible for membership with the Dietitians of Canada (DC).
• Two (2) years experience in clinical dietetics and including recent related experience in nutritional counseling and eating disorders, working with youth, and in adult education.
