Job Title: Sommelier / Wine Steward

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Wine Sommelier to join our team at Baan Lao Fine Thai Cuisine. As a Wine Sommelier, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, guiding guests through our wine and spirit offerings, and maintaining a high level of knowledge about wine and spirits.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Baan Lao, committed to providing an exceptional customer experience.
  • Ensure efficient and personalized guest service.
  • Lead by example and be a proactive member of our serving staff.
  • Guide guests through available food and beverage options, assist with selections and pairings.
  • Stock, product rotate, and maintain quality control for all food and beverage outlets.
  • Assist with the planning, organization, direction, and control of wine and spirit offerings.
  • Create and execute tastings and training seminars for the service team and guests, as directed by management.
  • Support the service team and floor manager while on shift.
  • Control monthly inventory and weekly ordering, assisting in creating, meeting, and exceeding all restaurant wine and spirit financial goals.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of storage areas, such as fridges, storage rooms, and kitchens.
  • Familiarize yourself with the requests of return guests and special attention guests, to better serve them on the floor and look for opportunities to exceed their expectations.
  • Continued education and research on new products within the food and beverage industry.
  • Regular team, supervisor, and food and beverage meetings.

Requirements:

  • Be a responsible server.
  • Serve it Right certification.
  • Work permit.
