Job Description

The Senior Hydrologist will be part of a multidisciplinary team in our energy sector, working on hydrology and hydraulic structures, and river and coastal development projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in hydrology and hydraulic engineering, with experience in modeling and simulation using specialized software.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Conduct Hydrological Studies: Conduct studies related to river hydraulics, including hydrological studies, determination of design flows, hydrogeomorphology, sediment transport studies, floodplain mapping, etc.
  2. Model and Simulate Hydraulics: Model and simulate the hydraulics of watercourses and hydraulic installations using specialized software (1D, 2D and 3D)
  3. Design Hydraulic Installations: Design hydraulic installations such as spillways, retention basins, canals, bridges, culverts, penstocks, etc.
  4. Carry Out Dam Safety Studies: Carry out dam safety studies
  5. Assess Climate Change Impact: Assess the impact of climate change on various infrastructures
  6. Plan and Conduct Field Surveys: Plan and carry out field surveys
  7. Participate in Multidisciplinary Coordination: Participate in multidisciplinary coordination
  8. Take Charge of Clients, Projects or Batches: Take charge of clients, projects or batches
  9. Write and Check Technical Reports: Write and check technical reports and contribute to the development of plans and specifications
  10. Participate in Service Agreement Preparation: Participate in the preparation of service agreements
Qualifications
  1. University Degree in Civil Engineering or Equivalent: University Degree in civil engineering or equivalent
  2. Master's Degree in Hydrology or Hydraulics: Master's Degree in hydrology or hydraulics with academic training in modeling (an asset)
  3. Experience in Hydrogeomorphology: Experience in hydrogeomorphology (an asset)
  4. Member of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ): Member of l'Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec (OIQ)
  5. More than Ten Years of Experience: More than ten (10) years of experience in the field of river and/or coastal hydraulics
  6. Fluency in Spoken and Written French: Fluency in spoken and written French
  7. Fluency in Spoken and Written English: Fluency in spoken and written English in a professional context to ensure communications on certain projects
