The Senior Business Relationship Officer is responsible for providing an outstanding client experience while fostering profitable business expansion, aligned with the strategic objectives of the organization. This position focuses on establishing new connections and enhancing existing client relationships for both credit and non-credit offerings.
CLIENT FOCUS
- Consistently deliver superior client service at every engagement and implement strategies to enhance the client experience.
- Oversee all facets of relationship management for a designated portfolio.
- Serve as a knowledgeable business banker, addressing client needs with innovative products and solutions.
- Utilize sales platforms to gain a comprehensive understanding of our clients' needs, sectors, and markets.
- Comprehend the client's operational landscape, structuring tailored financing, cash management, and overall business solutions to provide value.
- Maintain and continuously develop in-depth expertise regarding the market, clients, and broader economic influences.
- Cultivate and sustain influential relationships and strategies.
- Identify opportunities for client referrals to internal partners that align with client needs.
- Enhance the brand by engaging in networking opportunities.

- Establish new connections and deepen existing client relationships by consistently applying the Business Banking Relationship Methodology.
- Promote and provide a comprehensive range of products, services, and banking capabilities.

- Negotiate to optimize the profitability of relationships with current clients based on their risk profile.
- Contribute to credit applications with thorough risk assessment, credit structuring, due diligence, and credit presentation.
- Manage accounts to ensure they are monitored appropriately and remain within established guidelines and limits.
- Understand the market and industries within the portfolio to ensure value-added services are delivered while mitigating risks to the organization.
- Actively refer to other business partners within Commercial Banking and across the organization, responding effectively to reciprocal referrals.
- Safeguard the interests of the organization by identifying and managing risks, escalating non-standard, high-risk transactions as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory and operational risk standards.
- Take responsibility for minimizing operational and regulatory risks by complying with the organization's Code of Conduct.
- Develop productive relationships with external partners to identify new business opportunities.

SCOPE OF ROLE
- Expert-level professional role primarily responsible for originating new client business and managing relationships within the Commercial Business segment.
- Manages a portfolio characterized by moderate to high cash management, deposit, and credit complexity requirements.
- Analyze and interpret client financial statements with advanced credit acumen.
- Identify referral opportunities across various business lines and segments.
- Anticipate, recognize, and interpret market trends, applying this knowledge to meet client needs.
- Address problems of moderate to high complexity and recommend innovative product and service solutions.
- Possess expert-level knowledge of products, services, credit management practices, and operational standards to drive business performance.
- Operate autonomously as the 'lead' and mentor team members within your area of expertise.
- Execute and support others in complex account management processes, structuring customized solutions and advice.
- Guide and influence clients and stakeholders, translating information into compelling business context and advice at increasingly senior levels.
- Compile and interpret market intelligence to assist senior management in strategic direction for the business unit.
- Typically reports to the Senior Manager of Commercial Sales.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Undergraduate/Graduate degree and/or
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
