Canada Hilary Cartwright & Associates Full time

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Pediatric Occupational Therapist to enhance our multidisciplinary clinic, which provides a variety of developmental and mental health services tailored for children, adolescents, and young adults. Our facility currently accommodates a team of four psychologists who support youth aged 2 to 25, along with their families and community partners. We prioritize a neuroaffirming approach to assist young individuals and their families dealing with diverse challenges, including developmental disabilities (such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, learning disorders, and intellectual disabilities), mood and anxiety disorders, eating disorders, and gender identity issues.

Role Responsibilities:

The role involves receiving referrals from within our clinic, recognizing the vital contributions of occupational therapists in the lives of our clients. Responsibilities may include:

  • Conducting assessments to identify the strengths and needs of children through both formal and informal methods, and developing personalized intervention strategies based on assessment outcomes.
  • Formulating therapeutic goals and action plans, and executing these in practice.
  • Collaborating effectively with families, clients, and other members of the care team.
  • Possessing advanced knowledge in sensory processing, fine motor skills, handwriting development, self-care abilities, and trauma-informed care approaches.
  • Focusing on evidence-based practices and demonstrating a commitment to their implementation.
  • Exhibiting excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Displaying a strong interest in teamwork.
  • Maintaining strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's degree from an accredited university program and hold registration in good standing with the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT) and the New Brunswick Association of Occupational Therapists (NBAOT). A minimum of two years of pediatric experience is preferred. Additionally, valid CPR certification, the ability to pass a background/vulnerable sector clearance, and a valid driver's license with access to a vehicle are essential.

Benefits:

  • Competitive compensation structure
  • Access to referrals from a waiting list
  • Modern office space with amenities
  • Comprehensive office services and administrative support
  • Free on-site parking
  • Opportunities for consultation with psychologist colleagues
  • Professional development funding of $500 per year

Compensation:

Hourly pay ranges from $50 to $75, commensurate with experience, with flexible hours available to accommodate the successful candidate's preferences.
