We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Operations Supervisor to become a vital part of our team at OMERS.

Role Summary :

The Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in the daily operations of our facilities, ensuring effective management of service providers. This position requires extensive knowledge of building systems and operations, along with relevant experience in contract management, performance oversight, and financial accountability.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service and operational efficiency through daily interactions.
  • Manage multiple service contracts and oversee vendor performance to align with OMERS standards.
  • Monitor various service providers to meet and exceed established performance metrics.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs; document findings and propose cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with the management team on capital projects, tenant improvements, and preparation of vacant spaces.
  • Work alongside the Operations team to coordinate with tenants and service providers regarding maintenance and other building services, adhering to service level agreements.
  • Define project scopes, request cost estimates, and refer specialized tasks to external contractors as necessary.
  • Implement and oversee preventative maintenance programs, following industry best practices and standards.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in gathering and summarizing quotes and proposals for various services.
  • Oversee data analysis using platforms to identify trends and opportunities for service enhancement.
  • Support the Operations Manager in budget development, maintenance, and invoice processing.
  • Engage in initiatives related to building certifications and ensure accurate data management.
  • Provide coverage during the Operations Manager's absence and assist with additional duties as required.

Required Qualifications :

  • A valid 4th Class Power Engineering certification with at least 7 years of operational experience in high-rise buildings.
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in building science, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
  • Preference for candidates with project management experience and relevant industry certifications.
  • Proven experience in management and supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, life safety systems, and building automation technologies.
  • Understanding of tenant construction processes and design.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel, Outlook, and Project.
  • Familiarity with preventative maintenance programs and budgeting tools.
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Adaptable and collaborative in a dynamic work environment.
