Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) services and other assigned clinical services, including confidential counseling, case management, direct clinical interventions, and assessments.
  • Conduct prompt and effective telephonic assessments through queued calls and the Meet Now function, addressing client behavioral and emotional health issues, family dynamics, wellness, workplace challenges, and personal matters, particularly in crisis situations.
  • Provide actionable strategies that clients can implement independently.
  • Receive case assignments, develop treatment plans, document case progress, and determine case closure in collaboration with the Clinical Manager.
  • Create outlines for specific action plans with each client under regular supervision.
  • Perform comprehensive psycho-social assessments on clients as necessary.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support interventions for suicide prevention and other risks.
  • Complete intervention documentation and any required tracking forms.
  • Maintain established service levels and direct service targets.
  • Consult with the Stay at Work Clinical Management team as needed and collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
  • Facilitate workshops as required, depending on personal competencies and availability.
  • May provide Crisis Management Services (CMS) on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology.
  • Registration in good standing with the relevant governing body as a Social Worker, Psychologist, Marriage & Family Therapist, or Canadian Certified Counselor.
  • 2 to 3 years of clinical experience addressing a range of mental health and situational challenges, including training in solution-focused and/or cognitive behavioral short-term therapies.
  • Experience with crisis hotlines, telephonic counseling, and/or EFAP is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with active listening abilities in English; proficiency in French is an asset.
  • Skilled in risk assessment, online research, and resourcefulness in accessing emergency and community resources across Canada.
  • Empathetic to client concerns, demonstrating exceptional customer service in person and over the phone.
  • Flexible and creative in approach to single-session counseling, with a passion for facilitating immediate change by focusing on clients' strengths.
  • Awareness of the importance of measurement-based care in guiding clinical decision-making; experience is an asset.

English language proficiency is essential as this role involves communication and collaboration with both French and English-speaking clients and colleagues nationally.
