MOBIA is seeking a skilled Design Technician to support our design team in creating accurate and efficient network designs. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with engineers and designers to translate concepts into products, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect and analyze engineering data, evaluating and interpreting field surveys to inform design decisions.
- Design access network facilities using standard technologies, establishing project milestones for service delivery.
- Develop engineering drawings and reports to industry standards, including CSA & ESA 22/04.
- Analyze pole lines for conductor spacing, separation, clearance, and physical element strength under ice and wind loading, using CSA standards.
- Ensure design drawings and calculation packages are completed by appropriate deadlines.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Completion of related post-secondary education, such as a Bachelor of Engineering or Diploma in Civil Engineering.
- Excellent software skills, with a high attention to detail.
- Experience working with Quick Pole, SPIDACalc, and/or PLS-CADD.
- Customer service-focused individuals who take pride in delivering high-quality products.
- Strong communication and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of Telecommunication outside the plant is an asset.
- Previous experience in the electrical or telecom field designing aerial and underground networks is an asset.
- Experience with QGIS and AutoCAD is an asset.
