Deputy Chief of Police Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Chief of Police to join our team at the City of Medicine Hat Police Service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Reporting to the Chief of Police, you will work closely with the Executive Team to develop and implement strategic plans to support the department's vision, mission, and values.
  • Oversee the development and delivery of operational plans, ensuring alignment with the department's goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other senior leaders to identify and address key issues, and develop solutions to improve departmental performance.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a law enforcement agency.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective operational plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, and to lead and motivate others to achieve departmental goals.
