Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in executing work plans associated with the Community Research and Evaluation division.
  • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to gather business requirements and deliver data-driven insights.
  • Partner with various business units to enhance program and service efficiency through policy analysis and resource utilization assessments.
  • Gather and maintain data from multiple sources, ensuring its accuracy and integrity for informed decision-making.
  • Conduct complex analyses utilizing tools such as Business Intelligence (BI) Launch Pad, advanced Microsoft Excel, SPSS, and Power BI to fulfill ad hoc requests and generate regular reports.
  • Perform Exploratory Data Analysis on partner data, providing detailed insights through reports, dashboards, and presentations.
  • Prepare presentation materials for diverse audiences, including City Council and partner leadership meetings.
  • Customize and assess the Records Management System and its associated data warehouse.
  • Collaborate with IT staff to identify deficiencies and recommend enhancements in data collection and analysis processes.
  • Utilize the DECCAN tool to support strategic planning and analysis for partners.
  • Assist the Geographical Information Systems (GIS) team in developing various mapping solutions.
  • Provide training to staff and business unit partners on utilizing reports and dashboards created with data visualization tools.

Qualifications:

  • A completed 2-year diploma in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, along with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS) and programming languages (e.g., Python, SQL) is preferred.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI and Tableau is an asset.
  • Familiarity with large datasets and database management is advantageous.
  • Experience in facilitating multi-partner collaborations to achieve common goals is beneficial.
  • Success in this role requires strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, excellent communication abilities, and the capacity to work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
