About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join our team at Schlegel Villages. As an RPN, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our residents, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario and adhere to the standards of practice.
- Deliver safe administration of medication and treatments, prioritizing accuracy and quality.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to ensure resident-centered care.
- Provide emotional support and advocacy for residents, promoting their autonomy and dignity.
- Collaborate with the Neighbourhood Physician during weekly rounds, updating care plans and directions accordingly.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals, ensuring seamless care transitions.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, contributing to the enhancement of resident care and services.
Requirements:
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Existing Heart Save Level of CPR.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively, manage stress, and maintain a calm demeanor.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficient computer skills, with experience using electronic medical records and other healthcare software.
- Understanding of relevant policies, procedures, legislation, and regulations applicable to the Long-Term Care sector.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MDS credentials.
- Experience working with people living with dementia.
- Knowledge of palliative care assessments and end-of-life care.
- Comfortable supporting residents and their families during challenging times.
