About the Opportunity
We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Shannex Incorporated. As a key member of our kitchen operations, you will be responsible for planning and preparing meals according to established standards, procedures, recipes, and menus.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and prepare meals according to established standards, procedures, recipes, and menus, including preparing special meals to meet appropriate therapeutic menu modifications according to established guidelines;
- Assist with preparation of food for special functions (e.g. catering, theme dinners) to ensure service meets established standards;
- Report any recipe shortages, discrepancies, or quality issues to the Executive Chef or supervisor in a timely manner;
- Clean and sanitize cooking station daily; maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment such as ovens, kettles, mixers, or others according to legislative and organizational standards;
- Follow disposal procedures according to established waste management guidelines for organics, paper, plastics, cans/bottles, non-recyclable material, etc.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess a Culinary Arts Diploma and a valid Red Seal Certificate. You will also have experience in large quantity food preparation and be able to read and follow detailed recipes/instructions as required.
