Summary:
AGAT Laboratories is currently hiring for a Laboratory Technician to join our Inorganic Lab working out of our Dartmouth, NS facility. The Laboratory Technician is an entry-level position into the laboratory and will work with various instrumentation. This position is given direction from the Laboratory Supervisor and assists with administrative and basic laboratory activities.
Schedule: Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm
What you will be doing:
- Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions.
- Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning work stations and waste disposal.
- Calibrate, operate, maintain and troubleshoot intermediate instruments.
- Compile, verify and validate accurate data records.
- Meet quality assurance and turnaround specifications.
- Follow all Quality Control and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Report results.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you bring to the table:
- Post-secondary education with a Technical Diploma/Science Degree or equivalent industry experience.
- 0-2 years of experience.
- Previous laboratory work experience.
- Basic computer skills with experience with MS Office and LIMS.
- Good communication skills and fluency in English both verbal and written.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks within a fast-paced work environment.
- Hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
- Mature work ethic, with the ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to lift 25+ pounds on a consistent basis.
