Clearview Public Schools is seeking a dedicated, energetic, and compassionate individual to fill the full-time position of Mental Health Professional at Stettler Elementary School and Christ-King Catholic School in Stettler, AB. Clearview Public Schools and East Central Catholic Schools have partnered with Calgary Police Youth Foundation (CPYF) to hire a Mental Health Professional to work within Stettler at the elementary school level for term until the end of the school year to be renewed annually for as long as the grant continues.
We will consider qualified Registered Psychologists, Registered Social Workers (minimum requirement - Bachelor of Social Work), and Registered Psychiatric Nurses who are eligible to practice in Alberta. The role will be consistent with the professional scope of practice of the successful candidate. The successful candidate may provide assessment, intervention, and support for students experiencing academic, emotional, behavioural, and mental health challenges, and will work collaboratively with school staff, families, and community partners.
Duties and Responsibilities may include:
- Supporting students’ mental health and well-being through appropriate assessment, observation, and intervention, consistent with professional scope of practice;
- Planning and providing individual and/or group mental health supports using evidence-informed approaches;
- Providing counselling and therapeutic supports appropriate to training, role, and regulatory requirements, and monitoring student progress in collaboration with school teams;
- Collaborating with school staff, families, and external professionals or agencies to support coordinated care and capacity-building; and
- Maintaining documentation, contributing to required reports, and participating in program evaluation and reporting as applicable.
