Maintenance Manager

Our client, a leading food manufacturer is seeking a Maintenance Manager to join their dynamic team. In this exciting position you will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance activities to ensure efficient plant operations. This is a great opportunity to be a key stakeholder in a growing company that invests in its employees.
What we are looking for you to do:
- Schedule and supervise maintenance repair work, assist with checking installation and servicing building equipment. Facilities will be included.
- Draft maintenance reports and preventative maintenance program.
- Inspect newly acquired equipment upon arrival, to ensure they meet standards.
- Assume a leadership role in the program of health and safety.
- Work with the project teams to ensure current and future compliance with all standards, including building code, electrical standards, the Ministry of Environment, etc.
- Safely maintain all mechanical and electrical systems, all plant processing and packaging machinery, boilers, air compressors and refrigeration systems.
- Coordinate with all outside contractors and ensure that work is completed in a safe manner that complies with all necessary manufacturing codes, regulations and standards i.e. H&SE, GMPs, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS
- Identify opportunities and make recommendations to continuously improve maintenance operations efficiencies and building systems
- Prioritize and schedule maintenance activities to balance plant & equipment availability with overall costs.
- Prepare reports on Health and Safety activities.
- Lead, manage, motivate maintenance staff.
- Encourage process improvements in maintenance and operations with all involved parties.
- Take part in decisions related to improvements.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in food or beverage manufacturing
- Refrigeration TSSA B Certificate
- 5+ years of Maintenance Supervisor leadership experience
- Hands on equipment troubleshooting, PM policy development
- Ability to work in a cold environment
