We are seeking a Benefits Consultant to join our team in Toronto.

The Benefits Consultant is responsible for growing the portfolio of National Enterprise clients in the small to mid-sized market space. The Benefits Consultant is responsible for achieving sales results, finding & qualifying leads and bringing new business opportunities to close.

The Benefits Consultant will:

1. Lead and manage the overall relationship of a block of clients including strategic consulting advice, service delivery, financial management, plan design, pricing strategies, analyzes trends, negotiate renewals, and benchmarking
2. Develop and implement strategies and activities to support client satisfaction and retention
3. Maintain positive relations with clients, including key decision makers and administrators
4. Manage client expectations and effectively deal with concerns or issues
5. Identify the client's group insurance risks and recommend appropriate plan design and cost mitigation strategies
6. Develop annual client plans to ensure clients are receiving value added service and that the work being produced aligns with client goals and objectives
7. Initiate new business development through cold calling, lead generation and networking
8. Accountable for revenue/profitability for client accounts and projects
9. Identify creative opportunities for growth within client block through multi-product selling and providing enhanced value through unique solution generation
10. Active participation in prospecting for and securing new clients from leads generated through competitive bid sites, targeted proactive networking and referrals
11. Manage clients from expected growth from sales team
12. Participate in continuing education to maintain a high level of knowledge of employee benefit legislation, administrative issues, plan rules, claim management and client specific procedures
13. Participate in industry conferences, seminars, etc. in order to promote services and keep abreast of industry trends and activities
14. Represent People Corporation in the market and be a successful brand ambassador
15. Maintain an expert knowledge of the complete line of People Corporation products and services
16. Foster and develop positive supplier relations to enable strong partnerships for your clients
17. Provide coaching and mentorship to technical/analyst and service teams
18. Build and maintain strong relationships with colleagues, shared services, practice areas, etc. across the organization

To be successful as a Benefits Consultant with People Corporation, you will need:

1. Experience in group benefits is required
2. 3-5 years' progressive experience in group benefits in a client facing or consulting capacity providing strategic and innovative solutions to clients' complex benefits challenges
3. Valid and current LLQP (or willingness to obtain)
4. Deep expertise and understanding of the group benefits industry including funding arrangements and flex programs
5. Superior analytical and mathematical skills, strategic planning, communication, and listening skills
6. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
7. A positive attitude and strong team player who works well with internal and external stakeholders
8. A solution and results oriented individual who demonstrates excellent problem solving skills
9. Ability to meet deadlines and provide deliverables as identified in a timely manner
10. Proficiency and comfort working with multi-channel technology
11. Completion of or the ability to complete the Life License Qualification Program (within 90 days of joining)
12. Availability to travel on an as needed basis
13. Valid Driver's License and Vehicle
14. Group Benefits Associate (GBA) or CEBS designation or currently working towards it

All-star candidates will have:

1. Completion of formal sales and presentation training
2. Challenger Sales and/or Consultative Selling background
