Sarjeant Propane is looking for Service Technicians in all of the Northern Ontario markets we serve including the Thunder Bay, Fort Frances, Dryden, Geraldton, Marathon, Wawa, Porcupine, and New Liskeard areas. The Service Technician is responsible for installing and servicing equipment and tanks based on certifications and tickets. G1 equipment above 400,000 BTUs, G2 equipment up to and including 400,000 BTUs & G3 working with a G1 or G2. The Service Technician responds to requests based on their certifications for the most difficult and unusual repair situations in recognition of their role as the technical and code expert for the service team. The Service Technician will also collaborate with a Service Coordinator on a regular basis in relation to day-to-day activities.

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Apply advanced technical knowledge in the installation and service of complex residential and commercial propane and natural gas related equipment. This will include, but is not limited to repairs, dispenser inspections and re-qualifying cylinders, the installation and service of propane tanks and propane and natural gas appliances.
2. Provision of preventative maintenance solutions and scheduled maintenance for residential and commercial applications and customers.
3. Safe operation of the crane truck and other service vehicles required to perform tank installations, relocations and customer troubleshooting.
4. Partnering with our dispatch team to ensure excellent service standards are demonstrated.

Compensation:

Depending on certification and tickets:

1. G1 with rail, mining and LP tickets $40-45/ hour specifics at interview stage
2. G2 with LP tickets $32-36/ hour specifics at interview stage
3. G3 $26-28/ hour specifics at interview stage
4. Overtime pay applicable, vacation days, work schedule is Monday to Friday with 8 hours daily, some overtime may apply.
5. Full time position; Sarjeant Propane will also entertain any gas fitter who is looking for a part-time schedule.
6. Relocation assistance available to candidates who meet the requirements of the position and are successful in the hiring process.

Qualifications:

1. Provincial gas fitter certificates and record of training are required.
2. A minimum of five (5) years' experience.
3. Advanced technical knowledge of propane appliances, equipment and plant operations.
4. Excellent knowledge of B149 code.
5. Valid driver's license with three (3) years' experience and clean driver's abstract.
6. Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects on a regular basis.
7. Must be able to pass pre-employment testing including drug and alcohol screening as well as a physical.
8. Good communication skills.
9. Knowledge and ability to use computers, specifically the on-board truck computers.
10. Full training provided for company-specific gas fitting job tasks.
