Overview
The Liberal Party of Canada is seeking a Communications Manager for an opportunity to join a dedicated team of staff to support Mark Carney and our Liberal team’s work to build a stronger Canada.
Reporting to the Director of Communications, this role will provide key support and project management to the cross-channel communications efforts of the Liberal Party of Canada – supporting communications products, media relations, issues management, digital and creative products, events, and a variety of communications projects across the organization.

What you’ll be doing
- Project manage day-to-day communications priorities across the organization.
- Lead the drafting and review processes for communications content and products, including for social media channels, digital engagement, creative communications, and our website.
- Support teams across the party to ensure message, tone, and narrative consistency.
- Prepare and track responses to media inquiries, respond to journalists, and monitor media reporting on the Liberal Party of Canada.
- Conceptualize, develop, and execute key communications plans for a variety of platforms and audiences.
- Support communications requirements for major Liberal events.
- Other duties as required.
You’ll need to have
- An ability to speak and write in both of Canada’s official languages is required.
- A strong working knowledge of current events and Canadian politics.
- 2-3 years of political experience.
- Proficiency as a writer in both long and short form, particularly with regard to press releases, advisories, speeches, and other media materials.
- Resourcefulness and strong troubleshooting skills, and with the ability and judgment to make quick decisions.
- Strong presentation and communication skills, and experience with volunteer facilitation.
- A keen sense of personal organization and time management, while working both individually and collaboratively.
