Job Description:

As a Survey Manager at Aecon Nuclear, you will play a key role in supporting the Darlington New Nuclear Project. Reporting to the responsible Survey Assembly Manager, your responsibilities will include survey execution and success within the DNNP Balance of Plant overall construction scope.

Duties:
  • Accountable for survey planning and readiness on the Balance of Plant construction including methods of survey, manpower levels, materials, tools & equipment, rentals, and work schedules.
  • Develop and monitor project survey readiness plans for heavy civil excavations, shoring, piling, monitoring and other site establishment scopes.
  • Direct coordination of other civil survey resources such as subsurface utility investigations, boundary surveys, UAV missions, Bathymetric surveys.
  • Direct and review completion of layout calculations, models and other digital survey data requirements.
  • Provides input and approve safety plans and procedures for survey and inspection tasks as required.
  • Responsible for the implementation and enforcement of safety, quality, and human performance programs.
  • Ensures that Aecon policies and project procedures are being adhered to and followed by survey personnel.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 10 years Civil Survey Supervision and planning experience.
  • 2 years nuclear or Industrial construction experience is an asset.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of Civil Survey such as: Grading and Infrastructure design, piling and shoring systems, TBMs and Tunneling, Survey Optical and GNSS equipment and grade control systems.
  • Experienced in leading Civil survey staff in reporting of project controls and quality deliverables.
  • Must understand how to support a positive Nuclear Safety Culture.
  • Experience in managing major complex Nuclear or Industrial projects.
  • Ability to read and understand construction plans, sections and profiles, and specifications.
  • Must have a full appreciation of the importance of Quality Assurance Programs and their significance to the nuclear industry.
