Electrical Engineer

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Prepare and review calculations, drawings, technical specifications, procurement documents, and other materials for procurement and construction purposes.
- Design, develop, validate, and oversee the installation of electrical equipment and systems.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary projects by preparing electrical designs and concepts for electrical power and distribution systems.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and owners to develop design concepts.
- Handle the design of lighting, modeling, fire alarms, communications systems, process control, and power distribution up to 44kV.
- Project management for electrical infrastructure projects and power systems.
- Analyze technical problems and provide recommendations and solutions.
- Prepare specifications, contract documents, and engineering progress reports, and ensure all designs conform to applicable codes and client standards.
- Develop detailed designs for high and low voltage system requirements in primary and secondary power distribution.
- Conduct applied research to provide optimal solutions for clients.
- Travel to construction sites to perform inspections and prepare reports.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Licensed professional engineer in good standing with the Professional Engineers Ontario.
- A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on engineering experience in construction, consulting, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge and experience with industrial HVAC controls and the Ontario Electrical Safety Code.
- Proficiency in trade-off analysis and the design of electrical systems.
- Ontario Ministry of Labor Pre-Start Health and Safety Review.
- Experience with industrial HVAC controls.
- Intricate distribution systems and cogeneration integration.
- Familiarity with NBC, ABC, and OBC building codes.
- AutoCAD and Revit experience.
