The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Montreal is seeking a clinical instructor in anesthesiology and pain management for a temporary position (1 or 2 years) starting this summer. This role offers the chance to work in a dynamic academic hospital environment, alongside specialists in anesthesiology, cardiology, surgery, dentistry, dermatology, medical imaging, internal medicine, neurology, ophthalmology, theriogenology, emergency, and critical care. You'll play a key role in clinical service and teaching.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical teaching and anesthesia services, including on-call duties;
- Supervise and evaluate veterinary residents, interns and students;
- Manage a diverse caseload, including companion animals, equines, farm animals, and zoological species (active collaborations with the local zoo and aquarium), handling a variety of challenging and rewarding anesthesia cases;
- Contribute to institutional, research, or outreach activities.
Qualifications and Requirements
- A team player with a passion for teaching and collaboration;
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent;
- Completed residency in anesthesiology (ACVAA or ECVAA);
- Board certification (ACVAA or ECVAA) and a PhD or MSc in anesthesiology or analgesia are considered assets;
- Speaking French is an advantage but not required.
