Responsibilities

You'll support and/or lead negotiations of multi-million dollar cross-border agreements for private jet sales worldwide. This involves drafting complex terms and conditions balancing risk and customer needs. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Drafting and negotiating agreements (aircraft purchase, data license, engineering services, and aircraft modification)
  • Providing commercial and legal support to internal and external customers for aircraft delivery objectives
  • Driving business results by anticipating risks and mitigating them through creative and effective plans
  • Engaging with management to raise unresolved contractual risks in a timely manner
  • Initiating correspondence with customers (invoices) according to purchase agreements and ensuring follow-up
  • Contributing to process improvement and governance activities within the department
  • Opportunities for international travel
Requirements to Thrive in this Role

To excel, you should combine business acumen with risk mitigation skills. A university degree in law or business, ideally with an MBA, is preferred. Additionally, you'll need:

  • 10-15 years of experience in a law firm or large corporation
  • 10 years of experience in commercial transactions and agreement drafting
  • Strong interpersonal and persuasion skills
  • Excellent drafting skills in English
  • Flexibility and ability to work extended, irregular hours as needed, with frequent travel opportunities
  • Bilingualism in French and English, with knowledge of a third language an asset
  • Proven experience in the aviation and defense industry or knowledge of U.S. government FARs and DFARs an asset
