The successful applicant will also possess effective communication and interpersonal skills, will have the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and will have strong attention to detail and accuracy. Qualifications: • Secondary School Education or equivalent required Skill, Ability and Experience: • Must have the ability to set priorities and to plan and organize work assignments• The ability to work independently as well as with others • Interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to deal effectively with both patients and staff• Demonstrated ability to fulfil role within Attendance Support Program parameters Principal Duties: • Screen and re-mask all patients coming into ER• Portering of patients within the Emergency Department and the waiting room• Prioritizing the patients coming in to register for the ER. Have patients sit in the front row to wait for triage• Assist with patients getting in and out of staxis (wheelchair)• Communicate with triage nurses if a patient looks unwell or if a patient needs attention• Assist in bringing family members (designated care partners-DCP) to the patient. Maintaining 1 DCP per patient.• Will perform other related duties as required• Assist with the flow of the waiting room• Listen and communicate any challenges or safety concerns to triage or call 4040 and speak to Security The material contained herein is provided for informational purposes only.
