Electrical Design Engineer

Atlas Transformer located in Brampton, Ontario is a Custom Design and Manufacturing of high-quality Medium and High Voltage Dry Type and Liquid Filled Transformers and serves Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional clients.
Electrical Design Engineer - Transformers - 3-5 years of experience
Responsible for the electrical design of electrical transformers based on specification
- Responsible for reviewing quote requirements for special units and recommending costs and technical details as required
- Reviewing the customer's order package and designing the electrical part to meet the customer's specifications with the minimum total cost
- Provide appropriate drawings for customers, suppliers and production team as and when required
- Supply bill of material for procurement and instructions for manufacturing
- Coordinate with suppliers for quotes, review and approval of supplier’s technical data sheet
- Testing of transformers, preparation and review of test reports to ensure product conformity to specifications.
- Direct work with the Sales and Customer team
- Failure inspection of transformers at the site and create investigation report
- Liaison with distributors, contractors and insurance surveyors for technical inspection at the site
QUALIFICATIONS
- Good knowledge of the technical fundamentals of electrical transformer design
- Good knowledge about safety requirements at the factory and at the site
- Well verse with provincial regulations & standards, CSA and IEEE standards with respect to power and distribution transformers
- Follow up on corrections, corrective actions or opportunities for improvement in each process.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to analyze complex design challenges and develop innovative solutions.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work in a collaborative environment and present technical information clearly.
- Attention to Detail: High degree of attention to detail and accuracy in design and documentation.
- Bachelor of Electrical Engineering required
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in designing electrical transformers.
- AUTOCAD and Inventor (essential); Solid Works (desirable)
