Grief Support Group Facilitator

Reporting to the Patient Services Manager, the Support Group Facilitator is responsible for the key leadership of this Grief Support Group. This group provides an open, friendly, and safe environment for family members and/or caregivers to discuss issues related to losing their loved one.
Certificate or degree in counselling, psychology, social work, or a related discipline.

Volunteers will be able to create effective presentations, meet new people, and gain valuable leadership experience. Volunteers will receive recognition for their contribution to the ALS Society of BC, and be invited to volunteer recognition events.
Required skills and experience
- Good communication skills both written and verbal (English)
- Thorough understanding of group dynamics and process
- Able to work independently, and in small groups
- Organized
- Excellent personal boundaries and ethics
- Able to maintain confidentiality & respect the individual needs of group members
- Comfort & knowledge using a computer and Email
- Experience facilitating small groups
- Work remotely
