ProKontrol is the largest distributor of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration controls (HVACR) for commercial buildings in Canada. We distribute all major brands of HVAC controls under one roof.

For 40 years, ProKontrol has been showing consistent growth with locations in Laval, Longueuil, Quebec, Toronto, Ottawa and Halifax in addition to our location for combustion. We are looking to fill the following position:

Senior Systems Designer-HVAC Controls

- Perform system engineering for DDC or alternate technology projects, as requested
- Analyse the estimate for the sequence of operations
- Revise the project engineering for colleagues
- Document the operation sequences
- Optimise project engineering prior to execution and propose improvements
- Support the team with the estimation of complex projects
- Hold exchanges with the customer in the case of modifications during the course of the project
- Produce plans for complex projects
- Act as a technical reference for colleagues
- Provide advice, training and coaching on the engineering aspects of complex DDC projects
- Offer help in the answering calls from technical support, as needed
- Stay up to date with knowledge pertaining to new products and technologies
- Attend training sessions given by suppliers and participate in industry meetings, seminars and trade shows

Requirements

- College degree in Mechanical Engineering, Instrumentation or Automation and Controls
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in designing control systems for HVAC installations
- Mastery of electrical concepts
- Good knowledge of design software and Visio
- Knowledge of systems such as Prolon, Johnson, Honeywell, Strato, KMC or Distech, an asset
