A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PAYMENT POSTING SPECIALIST

A day in the life of a Payment Posting Specialist at an orthopedic organization involves processing incoming payments from insurance companies and patients. They verify accuracy, allocate payments to patient accounts, and reconcile any discrepancies. Attention to detail, knowledge of medical billing procedures, and proficiency in using billing software are crucial for success in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A PAYMENT POSTING SPECIALIST

1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Strong knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) and Remittance Advice (RA's)
3. Ability to work with meticulous attention to accuracy and detail in a fast-paced environment.
4. Self-motivated, good initiative to complete tasks without close supervision, able to work well independently as well as within a team
5. Strong organizational skills
6. Excellent written and verbal communications skills.

WORK SCHEDULE

Workdays of a Payment Posting Specialist are Monday through Friday 8:00AM to 5:00PM with an hour lunch, or 8:00AM to 4:30PM with a 30-minute lunch. Additional flexibility may be offered after the probation period and based on business needs.
