About the Company:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to join our client's team in the manufacturing and importing sector. This role is ideal for a finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong background in financial management, reporting, and process optimization. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in streamlining operations, ensuring financial accuracy, and providing strategic insights to support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive process improvements and streamline operations within the accounting department.
- Oversee accurate and timely accounting and operational reporting.
- Prepare and analyze profitability reports across customers, projects, products, and agreements.
- Provide management with essential financial insights and recommendations regarding transactions, operational costs, inventory, sales, orders, depreciation, and other asset values.
- Drive initiatives to achieve cost reductions, enhance controls, simplify processes, and optimize equipment utilization.
- Support the preparation of operating budgets and forecasts, offering insights into future financial plans, internal controls, policies, and goals.
- Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and IT policies, instructions, and guidelines at all organizational levels.
- Assist with coordination and execution of audits.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities for the accounting team.
- Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to senior management, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Develop financial forecasts and long-term projections to support strategic decision-making and business growth.
- Manage current finance practices, including the use of QuickBooks software.
- Establish and maintain corporate banking processes and relationships; manage related requests and all banking-related matters.
- Report directly to the President/Owner.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in a management-level accounting role, with strong full-cycle accounting experience.
- Industry Background: Experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) preferred.
- Certifications: CPA designation (preferred).
- Technical Skills:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Extensive experience using QuickBooks.
- Knowledge of cross-border transactions, US tax, and related financial regulations.
- Soft Skills:
- Strong communication skills with the ability to convey financial concepts in layman's terms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skill
