Your Next Challenge

- Reporting to the Critical Infrastructure General Supervisor, you will be part of the Environment Department, ensuring operational and progressive closure project goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

- Manage key projects for closure and operation of water & tailings critical infrastructure (tailings storage, water movement, water treatment, water storage, water discharge, progressive reclamation, etc.).

- Conduct trade‑off studies or Multiple Account Analyses for water & tailings management operation & projects including cost evaluation & risk management.

- Lead design workshops, kick‑off meetings & Operation Readiness Plans (ORPs).

- Establish, update and communicate project scheduler, project controls and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

- Initiate and coordinate projects with the Management of Change (MOC) team.

- Prepare project engineering & management documents including scope of work, MOC requests, request for proposal, project charters, design reports.

- Support annual budgeting exercises.

- Support closure cost estimates and Asset Retirement Obligation (AROs) updates when required.

- Prepare, support, coordinate and update long‑term plans for water & tailings management including Life‑of‑Mine (LOM) plans, Extended‑LOM (ELOM) plans and 12‑24 month rolling plans.

- Establish assumptions and engineering requirements.

- Provide technical expertise and guidance.

- Conduct or support water balance forecasting exercises.

- Track compliance to applicable plans.

- Provide support to annual report updates.

- Ensure continuous improvements and optimisation of the existing processes, systems and infrastructure.

- Promote a safe work environment by ensuring safety standards are met for design, construction and operations of water management and geotechnical infrastructure.

- Maintain regular communication and work in collaboration with the onsite geotechnical and water management team, operations, planners, construction teams and management to ensure compliance with the site operational strategy.

- Manage various consultant mandates.

- Build and maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders including operation, process plant, MOC team, compliance team and permitting group.

- Complete various projects assigned by the General Supervisor Critical Infrastructures.

What You Need to Succeed

- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geological Engineering, Environmental Engineering or related field.

- 5+ years of experience with water and tailings project execution.

- Eligibility for a NAPEG membership.

- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite.

- Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills and presentation skills.

- Experience with project management software and data presentation software.

- Experience & qualifications in Project Management.

- Experience with site‑wide water balance.

- Experience in arctic environments is considered an asset.

- Working knowledge of Muk3D, Deswik, Civil3D, or other CAD or GIS software is considered an asset.

- Construction experience is considered an asset.

Note that the official working language at Meadowbank Complex is English.

Your Work Schedule

Hybrid schedule including a presence at site on a regular basis or more during key stages of projects.

Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides charter flights to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
